One of my favorite times of the week in this little bloggy world.
I love joining up with the other 5 minutes word mavericks each week and seeing how they share their lives through just a ONE word prompt....without a lot of fuss, fanfare, and editing!
So after you check out my prompt, won't you hop on over to Lisa Jo's place and check out the other posts?
AND......
Give LISA-JO some HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE as she celebrates another year of life and love!!
Why?
Cause she is such a FAB, AWESOME woman, host, momma, wife, leader, and writer!!
This week's prompt: OLDER
GO.
I am not one of those people who wants to get older.
But then again, if you have major estrogen running through your veins, who does right?
I took a Real Age test last week, and I came out to my "exact age."
And two weeks ago, I let the guy at the fair guess my age for a stuffed animal because I was "SURE" that I could stump him.
He, too, guessed
MY.
EXACT.
AGE.
And, well, I am going to be honest....my ego took a beating.
I know, I know...it's better than being guessed older, right?
But I don't know...my WHOLE life, people always thought I was younger than what I was.
And as a teenager, I HATED it!
BUT...
as a "grown-up"
I have learned to
appreciate
love
and even
cherish it.
But now due to stressors and physical issues, my body is betraying me.
So what do I do?
I stop for a minute.
In the middle of my lamenting.
I pause.
I ponder.
I think.
My heart.
My mind.
My love.
My grace.
My point of view.
yeah....
That's older too....and maybe....just maybe.....
That makes it worth it.
:)
But that doesn't mean I won't be using that new night cream I heard about the other day.....
;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
STOP.

LOVE this post. I just REALLY noticed the lines around my eyes in a photo last week. Scary. But with the bad comes the good, or I guess that is what we need to remind ourselves, right? And what was the name of that night cream? ;-)
stopping by from gypsy mama- and so glad I did. Don't worry about your "real age!" Like the song says, "the lines across my face tell you the story of where I've been . . ." and you have a lot of story to write! Looking forward to reading it!
it absolutely is worth it! don't ever doubt it :-)
blessings!
This is cute - I struggle everyday with being 41 but my mind still thinking it's 19 ... hopefully I'll grow-up one day - lol PS could you let me in on the night cream - lol - Happy friday and age is a beautiful thing - hey- bada-boom-bada-bing!
uh oh! people always tell me i look WAY younger. i got asked if i was like 15 the other day...and i was like uh no. here's to hoping i see the bright side when they start saying the exact age =)
People stopped commenting me looking younger than I am a few years ago, too, and it was hard! I think the new age perscpective is worth it! :-)
Enjoyed your post today! Have a great weekend!
Brenda

people have always thought i looked older, which was cool when i was....say, 12, but not so much anymore :) here's to treasuring my older heart, mind, love, grace...and night cream!
Hi Lindsey, This was so fun to read! It makes me think of the Father gazing at us, his girls, knowing we are the perfect age!

My "baby" sister was always the "older" looking one, and I like to tease her about it...and then I got busted! Oh, well!
Thank, Brenda! You are right! Life's value is ALL about our perspective, right? Thanks so much for stopping by!
