Day 8 - Sitting on the floor trying to go "manual" with my camera
I'm a WORK in PROGRESS in this area. It's gonna be awhile!
Day 9 - Time to put away the Christmas tree....we always do it a "little" later
because it makes me sad to say goodbye to "my" tree
Day 10 - What I Wore :: New Brown Flat Boots from Journeys,
skinny jeans, rouched gray-green dress from Banana Republic, and
a black cardigan and knit hat with red necklace
Day 11 - First training session for foster care & adoption
certification. 1 week down, 8 more to go.
Day 12 - 2nd anniversary of the 7.0 quake in Haiti.
It meant SO much to the 4 of us to be together on this day,
so of course we had a little photo shoot.
{photos shot by my love}
Day 13 - Paperwork for our house continues...my parents
sign their part before they head by to Haiti next week
Day 14 - My old hunter boy, Morris, checks out the lay of the land.
{I love this kid... ;-) }
I'm on a journey to chronicle my life with a picture a day for a year. I hope to discover the world around me in my day-to-day life in a uniquely different way as well as learn more about my DSLR to better capture those precious moments. Linking up with my friend Paige and others who are taking this challenge too.

ah! foster care and adoption! =) praying and excited for you taking these steps!
Love it all! It makes me feel like I'm living life with you! And you always look so cute! I'm always in sweat pants and black shirts :) And the adoption/foster care? Incredibly wonderful! Blessings :)
We are so excited too! God has been stirring our hearts with foster care for about a year and a half and then we found out we could be adoption certified through this process as well... 2 in 1....so exciting AND scary...but in a good way!!
Thank you! And trust me...I feature the day I "feel" the "cutest." At least half of the week I am in pants like the first picture above {like right now!}. I am trying to make an effort to at least wear yoga type pants with a cute top on days when I am working from home and feel "decent" physically.
And yes to the foster care process...the Lord put that on our hearts when we were still living in South Africa and the timing just seems right to pursue the training process. THEN we found out that we would be adoption certified too, which is amazing. God is just expanding our hearts like crazy....
One of my goals for this year is to spend more time taking shots on manual. It's a bit hit-and-miss at the moment!
I feel like I learned so much from these photos (you know, like the color of your cat ;) & can't wait to catch up, Lindsey!
Lindey,
First of all- I adore the Day 10 outfit =) I really commented because I wanted to tell you how excited I am to see that you are taking classes for foster/ adoption! I'm sure you know others that have gone down this road, but if you want to connect with others feel free to reach out to me. Having been on a similar path (infertility heartbreak) and then the Lord leading us to adoption, I know how important it is to be surrounded by other likemined peope.
Lindsey,
Your pictures look great! I can already tell the difference with your new camera! Oh, and you were adorable in your Day 10 outfit :)
Oh...SO hit-and-miss for me too! I am still learning....S-L-O-W-L-Y!
LOL...and that is only ONE of the cats! hahahaha
I love sharing glimpses into my world this way...
Thank you, Randee! I can't tell you how much that means for you to reach out to me about this. In the months and days to come, I am SURE that I will!!
Thank you for the compliment! And I am having fun "featuring" a "FUN" outfit of the week...while I enjoy warmer weather, I love cold-weather clothing styles - LAYERS!
