Do You Know Jesus?

Do you know Jesus and does He have your heart?
Is He your precious Savior or like a mystery in the night? When words seem not enough and all the world is black,
and you are being chased, seeking refuge from the dark,
and darkness closes in and you are wounded and alone,
will you find The One, the Haven for your soul?

When your heart bleeds red to the point of no return,
and the root of all evil seems buried deep inside.
Will you hide your failings, your sorrows, and your pain,
or reach beyond the distance to the Hope of the redeemed?
Will you bury these emotions in the comforts of this life,
finding momentary comfort in each fleeting earthly gift.

Green grasses and blue skies remind us that He's here,
longing to be the Purpose for each and every breath.
The living & loving & giving & trying take their toll, that much is real,
and yet still you wonder about this Hope for the all the earth.
"I love you!" is His mantra for which He laid down His life,
as crimson flowed to pour out all He had to give.

So, do you know Jesus and does He have your heart?
In the midst of all life's sorrows, quit stumbling in the dark
For through the storms and trials and every earthly shame
His love will conquer every heartache and heal every pain.

I have been experiencing a bit of writer's block lately, not because of having nothing to write about, but because of filtering through SO many emotions and thoughts that I just couldn't organize them into blog posts. So I hopped over to Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop this week, and a few links later, I came across this handy little writer's tool to help me, and VOILA! the above poem was birthed. And while I will NEVER aspire to be a poet-ess, I hope you enjoy my "attempt." It was a fun writing process!

I thought it was good! I totally know what you mean about writers block. More like writers log jam! PS- I think lady poets are just poets, not poetesses. :-)
