The End from the Beginning

This new world loomed large in my mind's eye, like a mystery yet to be unraveled.
Daunting and impossible, my heart buried the desire to spread its wings and fly
To the place where dreamers dance and artists paint with words of sorrow & joy

So in the secret of my heart, fantasy lies down to give space for practicality
Until the thinly veiled wall cracks under the weight of The Master's hidden potential

And, like Alice in the Looking Glass, I step through the magical mirror into a dream,
transformed by the wonder of the promise, the Relevant moment that is now,
amazed, thankful by this gift from my Father, who knows the end from the beginning......

Linking with Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop challenge to post in 8 lines
and Bonnie's Faith Barista on a gift that I recently received from God.

I love this!! I did the 8 lines too. More challenging than it sounds. Your story reassures me - sometimes I wonder about my daughter (15) and how her adult choices will be influenced by my parenting. Will she be running away from what I modeled or toward? Time will tell!!

Yes, Paula! It was MUCH harder than I thought it would be...but kind of fun too!  I truly believe that when you train up a child in the way he/she should go, when they are old, then will not depart from it.  Keep the faith!

I was just looking at your photos.  I mentioned once that I married a Zimbabwean (I was an mk in Zambia)  Now my daughter is in SA for 4 months and has fallen in love with a south African.  What is it about these African guys?

Thank you!!

LOL...I remember before I met my husband, a pastor from there told me, "What is wrong with these American men?" Because I wasn't married yet at 25.  He said, "They don't know quality when they see it!" He made me feel like it wasn't something wrong with ME but something that had yet to be discovered IN ME.  When my, now, husband came along, he pursued me immediately...no guess work...and I loved that. So I say now, "Once you get a South African man, you will never go back." ;-) How serious is your daughter with her SA beau?
